Step 1 - is a one on one visit at your construction site

Step 2 -is call 811 Miss Dig to get all nearby underground utilities flagged and located, It is Michigan state law to call 811 3 business days before you begin digging. Wisconsin property owners call Diggers Hotline.

Step 3 - the homeowner must identify and mark their own privately owned propane lines, septic lines, septic drain field, private electric wires feeding a yard light or building, water lines and sprinkler system, old drain tile, etc . The backhoe will destroy any and all of the above mentioned items. It is the homeowner's responsibility to identify and mark ALL privately owned underground lines

Step 4 - Homeowner will provide their own shoring. Shoring is used to save lives. normally installed on excavations that are more than four feet deep. Shoring will prevent a trench collapse where the side wall of dirt will give way unexpectedly and bury the homeowner alive. Trench collapse cave ins kill people every year, don't let it be you.

IMPORTANT - be aware, it is Michigan state law if you are digging within 48 inches of a buried utility line, such as natural gas, electric, phone, CATV, water, sewer we cannot use the backhoe. any digging within 48 inches of buried utilities is to be done with a shovel OR hydrovac only. no backhoe
